Why Buy A Certified Pre-Owned Nissan | United Nissan

Published on Oct 15, 2021 by United Nissan Team

Purchasing a used car shouldn’t come with uncertainty. When you buy a Certified Pre-Owned Nissan, you can drive confidently knowing your vehicle has been thoroughly inspected and has warranty coverage. Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) vehicles make an excellent choice for those not wanting to compromise quality, dependability, or budget. Like traditional used vehicles, CPOs are much more affordable than brand new models. However, they also offer the same perks of a new car through warranties and roadside assistance programs.

What is “Certified Pre-Owned?”

Certified Pre-Owned is a seal of approval indicating that a car has passed a rigorous inspection, has low mileage, a clean title, and is under a certain age.

What is the difference between pre-owned and CPO?

While all our pre-owned vehicles are inspected from top to bottom, CPOs undergo an especially meticulous screening process. They are also reconditioned to meet our standards if we notice anything off. On top of this, our Certified Pre-Owned Nissan vehicles come with an array of perks and benefits, similar to that of a new car. For example, CPO Nissan’s include a 7-year/100,000-mile limited powertrain warranty, 24/7 roadside assistance, and more.

How do Nissans become certified?

A Nissan must be 6 years old or newer from its original in-service date and have less than 80,000 miles to become certified. The original in-service date refers to the day a car was sold to its first owner – so a 2014 vehicle could still qualify if it weren’t sold until 2015. Then, Eligible vehicles must undergo two comprehensive checks: one of the vehicle’s history and a 167-point inspection. This process is done to guarantee only the best vehicles receive the CPO title.

What are the benefits of purchasing a Certified Pre-Owned Nissan?

As mentioned before, CPOs are a great choice because they allow drivers on a budget to still have the coverage and benefits of a newer vehicle. One of the most popular reasons for purchasing a Certified Pre-Owned Nissan is that it comes with a 7 year or 100,000-mile limited powertrain warranty. This covers repairs needed as a result of mechanical breakdown. Additionally, CPO Nissans include 24-hour emergency roadside assistance. The coverage is valid for the same duration of the limited warranty, 7 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first.

There are many perks to buying a CPO. To summarize, they include:

167-point Inspection 7-year/100,000-mile Limited Powertrain Warranty 24-hour Roadside Assistance Rental Car Reimbursement and Towing Assistance  Trip Interruption Coverage Genuine Nissan OEM parts CarFax Vehicle History Report Transferable Warranty

What is a Vehicle History Report?

Unlike other used cars, CPO Nissans come with a CarFax Vehicle History Report. This report summarizes data from over 112,000 different sources, giving owners an accurate picture of the vehicle’s past. Having this data means you can know about any past accidents, title history, flood or fire damage, among a plethora of other things.

What is covered in the Car Rental Reimbursement and Towing Assistance Package?

If your CPO vehicle is being repaired under warranty, you’ll receive rental car reimbursement for up to 5 days at $35 a day. We also include towing assistance of up to $100. Tow to United Nissan, and we’ll take care of the rest!

What parts are covered in the Certified Pre-Owned Nissan Limited Powertrain Warranty?

This warranty covers 600 plus parts and components, including the engine, transmission, and powertrain.
